Five local charities will once again benefit from the annual golf day organised by the Grimsby-based cash and carry business, Dee Bee Wholesale.

More than 100 golfers, mostly business and supplier associates of the company, took part in the event held at the Kenwick Park hotel and leisure complex near Louth.

By the end of the day, more than £7,500 had been raised for five charities – Lincolnshire Wolds RDA (Riding for the Disabled), Wish Upon a Star, Supporting Local Champions, St. Andrew’s Hospice and the Grimsby Town Disability Football Club.

The event finished with a dinner where the legendary Liverpool goalkeeper, Bruce Grobbelaar, was the guest speaker.

Nick Ramsden, managing director of the Ramsden Group, of which Dee Bee Wholesale is part, said: “This is one of the most popular events on the corporate golfing calendar and attracts friends, associates and suppliers of Dee Bee from all parts of the UK.

“It also gives us an excellent opportunity to raise money for our chosen local charities and my thanks go to everyone who contributed to the day and to our charity fund.”
